The day our S-10 came home on a tow truck. . .

This is a catch up post from a couple of weeks ago . . . Imagine this with me I am talking to Dearest Hubby on the phone as he is on his way home from work for lunch. Talking, talking, talking then all of a sudden I hear a big bang followed by a very concerned OHHH NOOOO! From Hubby. He was fine thankfully but the top ball joint had fallen off (broken off) the front wheel of our S-10. The wheel was now very precariously leaning in, causing the S-10 to be very stationary. One of our friends was able to give Hubby a ride home but try as they might they could not get the S-10 to roll home on it's own. A towing company had to be called, our S-10 was delivered to us later that afternoon via a flat bed tow truck. I have no doubt that watching that go down was absolutely the highlight of Bubby's week.
The S-10 sat in our driveway, just where the tow truck left it for a few days. Until one day when Hubby's dad and his uncle graciously decided to come and lend Hubby a hand fixing it. Obviously a huge thank-you to them is in order! I would also like to thank Hubby's mom who pulled a TON of weeds in our yard and built sand castle cities with her grandson in the sandbox!
*** Be sure to notice the lilacs in the back round of the sandbox picture. They were BEAUTIFUL this year! For some silly reason that picture seems to be the only photographic proof I have.***
