After reading the story of Rachel & Leah in our Storybook Bible, it was Bubby's turn to pray. . . I should add some back story here, the kid really likes to pray. He has a standard mealtime prayer that he rarely deviates from it goes a little something like this:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for this food,
and thanks for this great family!
--Amen
I love that mealtime prayer, his enthusiasm just melts my Momma heart. We have been trying to emphasize that he can talk to God about anything. I tried to explain how we can pray to God about things that make us happy and things that make us sad. So for the last several nights after our Bible story he had offered up a heartfelt prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Things that I am happy about,
and things I am sad about!
--Amen
So back to tonight at bedtime, after spending the day "helping" Daddy paint his baby brother's nursery and put up a ceiling fan Bubby prayed:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for ceiling fans,
and thanks for working with my Daddy!
--Amen
I think Daddy was pretty taken back :)
