Farewell My Christmas Beagle

Nolan was my Christmas present, given to me by my sweet husband when we were just newlyweds. The story as I remember it goes something like this, I had been begging, pleading and twisting his arm. We had just gotten married he wasn't sure that he needed to be tied down with a puppy. Then one random Saturday morning he took me out to breakfast at the Hy-Vee deli. I was eating and reading the paper, okay I was eating and scouring the classified adds for the perfect furry friend. I looked up at him and for the 100th time I said "are you sure we can't get a puppy?" only this time was different from the other 99 because this time he said "I suppose we could." My heart leaped with joy! I immediately called a few numbers. . . then I persuaded Hubby to just go look at these puppies (something I'm now positive he'll never fall for again.) He now knows that if he lets me look at puppies he'll be going home with one!
I'll miss you Sweet Nolan, it sure was a nice ride!!

Ten Things I'll miss about Nol-Bops

1. His tricks. . . he could roll over shake and beg so well. If you had a treat he really liked he'd do them all in a row.

2. The way he always fought over the bathroom heat vent with Daisy. He'd usually win even though Daisy would sit on his head in order to try and make him move.

3. His heart warming happy grunt!

4. The way he smiled (yes I'm serious he really did smile.)

5. The way he LOVED to run with my bike, sometimes he'd even pull me along with sled dog like enthusiasm. Nolan lived to go on bike rides and he really enjoyed eating Ice cubes afterwards!!

6. The way he used to bark at his favorite jogger. (I doubt the jogger will miss him much though :)

7. His ability to love me through morning sickness, even when I puked all over him.

8. He never liked strangers much but he adored my Best friend Sarah from the moment he met her. I always said he was just a good judge of character :)

9. He was REALLY good at keeping the Jehovah Witnesses at bay.

10. I'll Miss the way that he would run an jump into Hubby's arms when he wanted to be carried. They always looked so cute!
