Peeps and Junior

Somehow even though we were trying to sell our house I was able to convince Aaron to bring home two fuzzy ducklings home from Farm & Home. They were the cutest little things just about ever. They didn't die and I am actually amazed by this but, they grew and grew into the ducks you see in this picture. I really watched Elijah's personality blossom as he raised these birds, he grew confident and took on responsibility in ways he never had before. He would spend hours in the yard with them following him around. We filled up an old kiddie pool with water and Elijah and the neighbor boy delighted in watching the ducks swim and dive under water for pieces of spinach. Eventually Peeps and Junior grew too big to be city ducks and we had to find them a home on the farm. That was a sad, sad day around here.
